PWD ACT Morning Tea - Accessible Housing

People With Disabilities ACT (PWD ACT) is holding the first in a series of monthly Morning Teas!

Come along to hear about the activities of PWD ACT, discuss disability issues, and make new connections over coffee, tea and snacks.

At this event we'll be focusing on the topic of Accessible Housing.

We are pleased that Brooke Yates from Housing ACT and Penny Leemhuis (Older Women Lost in Housing) will be joining us to speak about these issues.

Register through this Eventbrite link.  (There's also a Facebook event page. Please help us spread the word by sharing with your networks!)

Towards accessible affordable housing:

Under the National Disability Strategy (2010-2020), all Australian governments (Federal, State and Territory) are committed to these policy directions:

  •  “Improved provision of accessible and well designed housing with choice for people with disability about where they live.”
  • “Improve access to housing options that are affordable and provide security of tenure.”

We would like to know more about your experiences and whether you think any progress has been made since 2010 on moving towards these outcomes in Canberra. Take our online survey to share your story and observations.
