On Friday 2 December PWD ACT, in conjunction with Fairfax Media are coordinating a newspaper supplement which will appear in The Canberra Times newspaper. Packed with news, arts and events the feature will include profiles of work and artists from the Belconnen Arts Centre’s IGNITE: Alternative Arts Academy as well as a calendar of events for I-Day in the ACT.    

Friday 2 December 2016 at 8.45pm & Saturday 3 December 2016 at 8.30am – 1RPH Special Broadcast

Radio 1RPH has made changes to its regular program schedule to broadcast a special program for the International Day of People with Disability at 8.45pm on the evening of Friday 2 December and 8.30AM on the morning of Saturday 3 December. 

Check it out on RADIO: 1125am on the AM band in Canberra.  The program will also be heard in Wagga Wagga and Junee in NSW through Radio 1RPH’s services in those towns on 89.5 FM in Wagga Wagga and 99.5 FM in Junee and can be streamed online via:  www.radio1rph.org.au

You’re invited to join the Museum of Australian Democracy for an IDPwD themed tour of Old Parliament House.  Join us on an historical journey through key spaces where legislation supporting people with a disability was discussed, debated and decided.

Our guest blogger Craig Wallace shares the stories of the leaders, laws, rights and programs formed by and for people with disability within Australian politics since 1900 on the museum website. Bookings required as spaces limited.

Saturday 3 December 2016, 2.00pm – 4.00pm – IGNITE: I-Day Official Launch

IGNITE: I-Day and official I-Day supplement launch with Rachel Stephen-Smith MLA, Minister for Disability and ABC TV and Radio presenter Adrienne Francis. Join Belconnen Arts Centre and PWD ACT to celebrate the IGNITE: Alternative Arts Academy and launch the 5th I-Day supplement.  Belconnen Arts Centre 118 Emu Bank, Belconnen, ACT (no RSVP required)
