People With Disabilities ACT invites you to be part of the launch of election platforms for disability at a rally at Woden Square (opposite the Post Office and near the Bus Interchange refurbishment) on Saturday 17 September 2016 from11am.

The rally will launch five (5) election platforms on transport, housing, access, the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the National Disability Strategy.

Key asks include mandated adaptable and visitable housing to the Liveable Housing Standard and a commitment that all ACT buses become compliant with DDA Standards through an accelerated timetable across the life of the next Assembly.  The platforms also call for dedicated work on access and to maintain an independent NDIS with adequate ILC funding.

Speakers including well known disability advocates Dougie Herd and Craig Wallace will share real life experiences of traveling, looking for housing and moving around in our city.

Candidates are welcome to listen and share their commitments.
